A man was found guilty and given the death penalty by a Chattogram tribunal on Sunday for abusing four Madrasha students in Rangunia upazila, Bangladesh, in 2020.

Nasir Uddin, 47, a hostel supervisor at Ahmadia Azizul Ulum Madrasha in the upazila and the son of Nurul Islam of Chakaria upazila in the Cox's Bazar district, is the sentenced criminal.

Judge of the Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal, Chattogram -3 Joynal Abedin heard testimony from eleven witnesses before imposing the penalty.

The prosecution claims that on October 12, 2020, a guardian of Ahmadia Azizul Ulum Madrasah filed a lawsuit against Nasir for abusing his kid.

Police discovered throughout their inquiry that the guilty party had similarly harassed three other madrasah students sexually.

The Chattogram police filed a charge sheet against Nasir on January 24, 2022.
