Syed Refaat Ahmed, the newly appointed Chief Justice of Bangladesh, criticized the long-standing dominance of oppression over justice in the country during a reception organized by the Attorney General's Office and the Supreme Court Bar in the Appellate Division on Monday.

In his speech, Chief Justice Ahmed honored the martyrs of recent student and public movements, expressing his gratitude to those who supported the cause. He emphasized the role of students in igniting a significant movement against inequality, which has led to his appointment as Chief Justice. "We stand on ruins now, and we must rebuild from this destruction," he remarked, pledging to uphold justice and warning against any form of irregularity.
