Rangamati, July 13 (V7N) — Advocate Dipen Dewan, the religious affairs secretary of the BNP National Executive Committee, has led a campaign in Rangamati to promote the 31-point plan announced by Tarique Rahman, Acting Chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), for building a new Bangladesh.
On Saturday afternoon, Dewan, accompanied by party leaders and activists, held a roadside meeting at Banrupa Bazaar in the city. Following the meeting, they distributed leaflets among the hill Bangalees who had gathered at the local weekly market from distant areas.
Among those present at the event were Saiful Islam Chowdhury Bhutto, Vice President of BNP Rangamati District, Advocate Saiful Islam Poni, Rafiq Ahmed, BNP Adviser, Majibul Haque, President of Sadar Upazila BNP, Md. Nuruzzaman, President of Naniarchar BNP, Ali Akbar Suman, Secretary of the District Chatra Dal, Mamtaz Mia, President of the Labour Party, Nurjahan Begum Parul, President of the Women’s Party, Saleha Akhter, Secretary of the Women’s Party, Shah Alam, Vice President of District Youth Dal, Al Amin, Former Convener of College Chhatra Dal, Abdus Shakur Zaved, Secretary of Municipal Chatra Dal, Samium Alam Tanin, President of Public College Chhatra Dal, Rahul Chakma, Joint Convener of the Volunteer Party, among many other leaders and activists from the party's affiliated and allied organizations.
During the campaign, Advocate Dipen Dewan stated, “There is no time to delay. We still believe that elections will be held by February. If elections are held, we will have a fair government and regain our democratic rights. We see the deterioration of law and order everywhere."
He further added, “Under Sheikh Hasina's government, the state structure has been destroyed, and it needs to be repaired. On this basis, Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has announced the 31-point plan for the restoration of the state structure in 2023. Therefore, we believe that through a free and fair election, we will implement these 31 points and build a new Bangladesh.”
