Bagerhat, Feb 14, (V7N) - Allegations have been raised against the contractor company, M/s Shuvo Enterprise, for using substandard gravel in the construction of a 1-kilometer road from Polghat to Adarsha Gram in Kolabaria village, Bagerhat's Bemrata Union.

Following complaints from local residents, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) in Bagerhat has initiated an investigation into the matter. On Thursday afternoon, Bagerhat District's ACC Deputy Director Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain, along with the Executive Engineer of Bagerhat LGED, Mohammad Sharifuzzaman, and other relevant officials, visited the site for inspection.

Mohammad Sharifuzzaman, the Executive Engineer of Bagerhat LGED, stated that due to allegations of using low-quality gravel and other substandard materials in road construction, the contractor has been instructed to halt the work and redo it with appropriate materials. The construction project has a budget of 1.25 crore taka.

Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain, the ACC Deputy Director, confirmed that samples of the gravel and other materials used in the construction have been collected. These samples will be sent to the Bagerhat Roads and Highways laboratory to test their quality. Legal actions will be taken based on the findings from the laboratory.
