Ukhiya, June 30 (V7N) — Members of RAB-15 recovered illegal arms and ammunition during an operation in the North Hajirpara area of Palongkhali Union, Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar, on Sunday afternoon.
The recovered items include one LG (locally made firearm), one foreign-made air rifle, six rounds of China rifle bullets, three rounds of live .22 bore cartridges, and one empty .22 bore cartridge.
According to RAB sources, a group of Bengali and Rohingya individuals were reportedly preparing for a robbery in the area. Acting on a tip-off, RAB launched the operation. Sensing the presence of law enforcement, the suspects fled the scene, leaving behind the arms and ammunition.
RAB-15's Media Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police A. M. Faruk, confirmed the incident and stated that efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the suspects.
