Ukhiya, July 2 (V7N)- A Rohingya man was shot and killed and three others were injured during a violent clash between Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) Between Rohingya Solidarity Organisation (RSO) in Ukhiya of Cox's Bazar Bangladesh.
The deceased, identified as Md Salim, was a security guard and son of Md Mokbul from Hakimpara under the Palongkhali camp in Ukhiya Cox's Bazar.
According to Amir Zafar, commanding officer of the Armed Police Battalion (APBn)-8, the confrontation incident around 2:30am at Rohingya camp-14. Both RSO and ARSA groups, armed with guns, exchanged fire, resulting in Selim's immediate death and injuring two individuals.
Shamim Hossain, officer-in-charge (OC) of Ukhiya Police Station, confirmed that Md Salim's body was sent to the Sadar hospital morgue for an autopsy.
