Rajshahi, July 8 (V7N)- RAB-5 has arrested two members of a syndicate involved in drug trafficking with 376 bottles of Indian Phensidyl in Bagha, Rajshahi.
On Monday (July 8), they were arrested from Kaligram area under Bagha police station at 6 am.
The arrested persons are: Mosha Shamshunnahar (25), wife of Jhantu Malitha from Kaligram area of Bagha police station, and Mohammad Rubel Hossen (32), son of Mohammad Ibrahim Haoladar from Atarpara area of the same station.
On Monday afternoon, a press release issued by RAB-5 stationed at Mollapara Camp in Rajshahi confirmed this information.
According to RAB, on Monday night, under the pretext of a law enforcement operation, it was found that unauthorized individuals were present in the Ambagan of Jhantu Malitha in Kaligram village under Bagha police station, selling illegal drugs such as Phensidyl from India.
Based on such information, a campaign was launched resulting in the seizure of 376 bottles of banned Indian Phensidyl and the arrest of 6 drug traffickers.
However, with the presence of RAB, two drug traffickers, Rana Gopi (35) and Jhantu Malitha (37), managed to flee.
RAB further informed that these arrested individuals have been involved in smuggling illegal drugs for a long time, using law enforcement loopholes to bring in illegal drugs from bordering areas into Rajshahi and other parts of the country.
Upon this incident, cases have been filed under the Narcotics Control Act against the arrested and absconding drug traffickers at Bagha police station."
