Dhaka, Aug 20 (V7N) - A complaint has been lodged with the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) investigation agency, accusing former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and 18 others of committing "mass murder" during an alleged firing at a Hefazat-e-Islam rally at Dhaka’s Shapla Chattar in 2013.

The complaint was submitted on Tuesday by lawyer Gazi MH Tamim at the ICT investigation agency's Dhanmondi office.

Among those accused are Shahriar Kabir, president of the Ekattorer Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee, historian Muntasir Mamun, and Imran H Sarker, convener of the Ganajagaran Mancha.

This is the third complaint filed against Hasina for murder and genocide with the ICT investigation agency.

On Monday, another complaint was filed against 27 individuals, including Hasina, Hasanul Haq Inu, Rashed Khan Menon, and Anwar Hossain Manju, in connection with the murder of a student named Alvi in Mirpur. This complaint also implicates the Awami League and its affiliates.

Previously, on August 14, a complaint was filed against Hasina on charges of genocide and crimes against humanity.

Supreme Court lawyer Gazi MH Tamim submitted the application on behalf of Md Bulbul Kabir, the father of Arif Ahmed Siam, a student who died after being shot by police during the student movement in Savar on August 5.
