Noakhali, Sep 03 (V7N) — The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested an armed terrorist, Shipon, aged 25, in a significant operation in Noakhali’s Sonaimuri area. The arrest, confirmed by RAB-11’s Acting Noakhali Company Commander Golam Morshed, follows intelligence reports linking Shipon to a range of violent criminal activities.
 
Shipon, a resident of Amirabad village in Deoti union, was apprehended with a substantial arsenal of weapons and ammunition. 
 
2 pistols, 2 locally-made firearms (LGs), 1 pipe gun, 25 rounds of bullets, 13 rounds of shotgun cartridges, 2 teargas shells, 3 homemade explosives (cocktails), 2 Chinese axes, 3 daggers, 3 weapon magazines.
The cache was reportedly intended to sustain Shipon’s criminal operations and exert control through intimidation and violence. The raid represents a major step in the crackdown on illegal arms trade and criminal activities in the region.
 
Shipon has been transferred to the Sonaimuri police station for further legal proceedings. Investigations are ongoing to uncover the full extent of his criminal network and operations in the area. This operation underscores RAB’s ongoing efforts to enhance public safety and dismantle organized crime in Noakhali.
