Kuakata, Sep 03 (V7N) - A robbery took place at the residence of Mohammad Manik Mia, a hotelier, in Kuakata. The incident occurred late Monday night at a two-story house located in Ward 4 of Kuakata Municipality. Armed robbers, equipped with local weapons, pistols, and machetes, stormed the house.
 
According to police and family sources, Manik Mia, along with his wife and daughter, was sleeping in two rooms around 12:30 AM when the robbers broke in. The intruders held them at gunpoint, tied their hands, feet, and eyes, and brutally assaulted Manik Mia. The robbers ransacked the house for about an hour and a half, stealing approximately 30 tolas of gold and 48,000 taka. The robbers wore masks, making it impossible for the victims to identify them.
 
After inspecting the scene, Additional Police Superintendent Bimal Krishna Mallik of the Kalapara Circle stated, "We dispatched police to the scene immediately upon receiving the report. A senior team has also arrived. We will use all available methods to recover the stolen items and will proceed with legal action after filing a case."
