Rajshahi, Sep 25 (V7N)- A project notification meeting for the "Children No Better" initiative was held at the Godagari Upazila Hall, Rajshahi, organized by the Association for Community Development (ACD) with support from Accept International. The project, titled "Children No Better - Making Child Participation the Key to Improving Effectiveness of Action Against Sexual Exploitation of Children," aims to enhance child participation in combating child sexual exploitation.
The meeting, held on Wednesday at 11 a.m., was graced by the presence of Upazila Executive Officer Abul Hayat as the chief guest. Assistant Commissioner (Land) Shamsul Islam and Upazila Social Service Officer Abdul Manik attended as special guests.
The session was presided over by Monirul Islam Payal, Project Manager of ACD. Program Officer Atiya Tansima initiated the meeting with an introduction and a presentation on ACD’s activities. Following this, ACD Project Coordinator Ali Ahmed presented the project's goals, objectives, and planned activities.
The meeting was attended by representatives from various sectors, including the Upazila Social Service Officer, Upazila Women's Affairs Officer, Youth Development Officer, Secondary Education Officer, local police, NGOs, teachers, religious leaders, Union Parishad members, local leaders, journalists, child leaders, and parent representatives.
During an open discussion, Project Coordinator Ali Ahmed expressed hope for broad community cooperation in implementing the project's activities and invited valuable suggestions from the attendees.
Assistant Commissioner (Land) Shamsul Islam praised the involvement of peer educators and child leaders in the initiative, highlighting the importance of skill-building and moral education for these young leaders.
Chief Guest Upazila Executive Officer Abul Hayat commended the project’s efforts, emphasizing its potential to raise awareness among children about sexual exploitation and to empower them to protect themselves and their peers.
The "Children No Better" project aims to create a safer environment for children by promoting active participation and leadership among them in the fight against sexual exploitation.
