Khulna, Oct 07 (V7N)- In the operation of the joint forces in Khulna, 5 people including the top drug dealer and Yaba emperor Sajib were arrested and a large amount of drugs, bullets and various equipment including mobile phones were recovered.  They were arrested from Chanmari and Rupsa areas of the city on Monday morning.  This has been confirmed by the Navy and the police.

Navy sources said, based on secret information, a joint operation was conducted under the leadership of the Navy in Chanmari area under Sadar police station of the city on Monday to recover drugs and weapons.  At this time

Yaba Samrat Md. Sajib Islam (32) was arrested.  Later, 3 rounds of blank cartridge ammunition, 1 thousand 617 pieces of yaba, 1 lakh 76 thousand taka, 21 mobile sets, 1 laptop, 5 CC cameras and 1 ram da were seized from his house.  There are 11 cases against Sajib Islam.  He is the son of Sundarban bandit Zulfikar Ali alias Zulfi who was killed in the crossfire.  His younger brother Ashiq Islam is the head of the city's dreaded youth gang 'Aashiq Group'.

Later, according to the information given by Sajib, four other people including a woman known as a Yaba trader were arrested from Rupsa area.  The arrested are the sons of Asadul Asadul Gazi of New Bazar area  Md Faiz Rabbi (29), Yakub Molla (42) of Chanmari Madrasa Road area, Md Ziarul Islam Nirab (21) son of Jalal Gazi of Dakop Upazila Sadar and Jamila Begum (38) daughter of Mohammad Toeb Ali Sikdar of Sattar Bara Minar Gully of Rupsa Beribadh Road.  .  The process of handing over the arrested to Khulna Sadar Police Station and filing a case is in process. 

Confirming the operation, Lt. Commander Samwel Ahmed Khan Adit, who is in charge of Navy's Khulna, said that the joint operation led by the Navy led by the Narcotics Control Directorate and the police participated. 

In this regard, Khulna Sadar police station officer-in-charge Munir-ul-Ghiyas said that he is aware of the operation and detention of the joint forces.  However, it has not yet been officially handed over to the police station.  is in process.
