Jhalokati, Oct 08 (V7N)— SM Moniruzzaman, Joint Confidential Assistant (CA) of the Jhalokati Sadar Upazila Parishad, has been temporarily suspended for making adverse comments about Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus on Facebook.

The comment was posted in response to a recent interview published by a Dhaka-based daily, titled "I took oath in Bangabhaban without going to jail." Moniruzzaman commented under the report shared on Facebook, stating, "Earlier there was a possibility of going to jail, now hanging is certain (if alive in Bangladesh)."

Upon noticing the comment, Jhalokati's Deputy Commissioner, Ashrafur Rahman, instructed the Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) to take immediate action. Following an investigation, Moniruzzaman was found guilty of violating conduct rules, and an order for his temporary suspension was issued on Monday evening from the office of the Upazila Nirbahi Officer.

Farhana Yasmin, the UNO of Jhalokati Sadar Upazila, confirmed that appropriate action had been taken as per regulations following the investigation.
