Cox's Bazar, Oct 09 (V7N) — Law enforcement agencies, including the army, police, and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), have implemented stringent security measures to ensure the smooth celebration of the Autumn Durga Festival in Cox's Bazar. Patrols around the puja mandaps have been intensified, and a control room has been established to prevent any untoward incidents during the festivities.
On Tuesday afternoon, RAB-15 Captain Lt. Col. HM Sajjad Hossain visited various puja mandaps, including Saraswati Bari in Laldighi Par, Indrasen Durga Bari in Goldighi Par, and the Krishnanandham Temple in Ghonarpara. During his visit, he assured the Sanatan community leaders of the heightened security arrangements, with law enforcement agencies working collaboratively to ensure a peaceful celebration.
Lt. Col. Sajjad emphasized that the army, RAB, police, and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) are working together to maintain security, while urging the public to remain vigilant and not to be misled by rumors. "Patrolling and intelligence activities have been strengthened to ensure the safety of all participants," he stated.
In addition to local security, special measures have been taken to manage the country's largest idol immersion ceremony, which will take place at Cox's Bazar beach . The authorities are committed to making the event peaceful and uninterrupted.
This year, 321 puja mandaps will host Durga Puja celebrations in Cox's Bazar, including 150 idol worship mandaps and 171 Ghat worship sites . The robust security arrangements are aimed at ensuring that this year's Sharidiya Durgotsav proceeds safely and peacefully.
