CHATTOGRAM, Nov 28, (V7N)— Sarjis Alam and Hasnat Abdullah, leaders of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, narrowly avoided injury when a car in their convoy was involved in a road accident on their return journey from Lohagara upazila to Chattogram.

The incident occurred in the Hazipara area of Chunoti union, Lohagara upazila, late tonight. Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Md Alim of Lohagara police station confirmed that both Hasnat and Sarjis were not in the vehicle involved and are unharmed.

According to ASI Alim, a Cox’s Bazar-bound truck collided with a car in the convoy. “Fortunately, no one was injured. However, the front portion of the vehicle was damaged,” he stated.

The truck driver has been arrested by the police. The leaders were returning from visiting the grave of Saiful Islam Alif, a lawyer recently killed in Chattogram.
