12 Jan (V7N) – The Development Studies Club (DSC) of Islamic University (IU) has announced its new executive committee, appointing Burhan Uddin as President and Sami Al Saad Aun as General Secretary. Both are students of the Department of Development Studies, with Burhan from the 2017–2018 session and Sami from the 2018–2019 session. The decision was approved during the 39th academic committee meeting, with the support of Assistant Professor Atifa Kafi, department chair, and faculty members HM Nahid and Firoz Hossain.

Other key positions include Vice President Sirajuzzaman, Joint Secretary Sabbir Hossain, Treasurer Kamruzzaman, Office Secretary Usama Bin Hasan, and Organizing Secretary Bablu Marma. The club also formed several wing committees to handle specialized tasks: Education & Research, Professional Development, Women's Welfare, Sports, Cultural Affairs, and Event Management. Each wing is staffed by dedicated members to enhance student engagement and foster growth in their respective fields.

The newly formed committee aims to introduce innovative programs and strengthen the club's role in promoting academic and professional development. Through collaborative efforts and diverse initiatives, the DSC is committed to creating a dynamic environment for students to grow and contribute meaningfully to the university community.
