Khulna 12 Jan (V7N) – The mustard fields across Amadi, Bagali, Maheshwaripur, Maharajpur, Koyra Sadar, Uttar Bedkashi, and Dakshin Bedkashi unions in Koyra Upazila of Khulna are now vibrant with the golden bloom of mustard flowers. This transformation of the landscape, characteristic of Bangladesh's six seasons, has painted the crop fields in bright yellow, attracting many visitors who capture the scenic beauty with their loved ones. The region’s loam and sandy-loam soil make it ideal for mustard cultivation, which has grown increasingly profitable for local farmers.

According to the Koyra Upazila Agriculture Office, mustard cultivation this season has expanded to 210 hectares of land. To support this growth, 200 farmers received agricultural incentives, each receiving 10 kg of DAP fertilizer, 10 kg of MOP fertilizer, and 1 kg of mustard seeds. This initiative has significantly contributed to the rising mustard production in the region.

The thriving mustard fields not only enhance the area's natural beauty but also promise economic benefits for farmers. As mustard farming becomes more lucrative, Koyra Upazila is emerging as a significant contributor to the region's agricultural prosperity.
