Ukhia (Cox's Bazar), Jan 14, (V7N) - In a shocking incident, police recovered the bodies of a mother and daughter from a toilet in the Madhurchhara Rohingya Camp No. 3 in Ukhia, Cox's Bazar, on Tuesday (January 14) around 11 a.m.

The deceased have been identified as Mumtaz Begum (55) and her daughter Zubaida Bibi (18), residents of Block F-75 in the camp. Mumtaz Begum was the wife of Rashid Ahmed.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Arif Hossain of Ukhia Police Station confirmed the recovery and stated that the bodies are being sent to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital for autopsy. He mentioned that the cause of death—whether murder or otherwise—will be determined following the post-mortem examination.

14 APBN Commander (Additional DIG) Mohammad Siraj Amin also confirmed the incident, emphasizing that the nature of the deaths remains unclear and further investigation is underway.
