Khulna, Jan 15 (V7N)- A meeting on updating the voter list with the regional election officers of Khulna region was held today (Wednesday) afternoon at the conference room of the Khulna District Commissioner. Election Commissioner Brigadier General Abul Fazal Md. Sanaullah (Retd) was the chief guest.

The chief guest addressed the election officers coming from different districts, saying, "You should try to ensure the issue of people becoming voters with honesty and integrity. It is necessary to ensure the voting rights of the people without any bias. Along with this, people who are eligible to become voters should be encouraged to be included in the voter list. Special attention should be paid to including women in the voter list so that women are not deprived of their various civic services."  At the same time, everyone should be made aware of the importance of being a voter as a citizen of the country. The chief guest said that it is our responsibility to make and preserve the voter list, and it is the duty of all of us to make a correct voter list so that a person can vote according to the rules. Because victory or defeat in an election can be determined through a single vote.

Additional Secretary of the Election Commission Secretariat KM Ali Newaz, Khulna Regional Election Officer Md. Humayun Kabir and Police Superintendent T M Mosharraf Hossain spoke as special guests at the meeting. Khulna Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Saiful Islam presided over the meeting. Later, the Election Commissioner briefed the media personnel.
