Rangamati, August 5 (V7N) – The district of Rangamati in the Chattogram Hill Tracts observed the July Mass Uprising Day with a formal program organized by the district administration. The event, held at the Rangamati district administration conference hall, brought together government officials, political leaders, educators, journalists, and community representatives to pay tribute to the historic movement.
The program began with a multimedia presentation featuring remarks from the chief advisor, setting the tone for a solemn commemoration. The Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate, Mohammad Habib Ullah (Maruf), presided over the discussion session, which highlighted the significance of the July uprising and its lasting impact on democracy and social justice.
Key attendees included Rangamati Police Superintendent Dr. S. M. Farhad Hossain, Civil Surgeon Dr. Nuyen Khisa, Deputy Director of Social Services Md. Omar Faruq, Jamaat leader Professor Abdul Alim, BNP representative Md. Tarek Ahmed, and National Citizens Party leader Bipin Jyoti Chakma, along with teachers, students, journalists, and civil society members.
The session concluded with a special recognition ceremony honoring the courageous individuals who were injured during the July movement, underscoring the district’s commitment to remembering the sacrifices made for democratic rights.
