Dhaka, Feb 04 (V7N) — Arabi Islam Suba, the 11-year-old girl who went missing from Dhaka’s Mohammadpur area, has been located in Naogaon. Superintendent of Police (SP) Muhammad Shafiul Sarwar confirmed the development today.

Adabor Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) SM Zakaria told the media around 2:30 PM on Tuesday (February 4) that Suba’s whereabouts had been identified using CCTV footage and technology. However, she had not yet been rescued at the time of the announcement. Authorities assured that she would soon be reunited with her family.

Suba had come to Dhaka from Barisal two months ago for her mother’s lung cancer treatment. On Sunday (February 2), she left home with her younger cousin around 6 PM. She went missing while crossing the road.

CCTV footage from Mohammadpur showed Suba last seen near Tokyo Square. In the video, she was walking with her cousin and another unidentified person.

Her father, Imran Rajib, had earlier reported to the media that Suba was a sixth-grade student at a school in Barisal. He had been staying at his sister’s house in Dhaka for the past two months for his wife’s treatment. He filed a General Diary (GD) at the police station regarding her disappearance, and the police launched an active search.

Authorities are now working on rescuing Suba and ensuring her safe return to her family.
