Tehran, Mar 16 (V7N)- Iran has rejected claims by former US President Donald Trump that the Iranian navy had been completely destroyed.

According to a report by Iranian media outlet Iran International on Monday (March 16), Brigadier General Ali Mohammad Naini, spokesperson for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), strongly rejected Trump’s claim.

Naini challenged the statement, saying that if Trump “has the courage,” he should send ships to the Persian Gulf and see the outcome.

He further claimed that the Strait of Hormuz is fully under the control of the IRGC Navy, emphasizing that Iran maintains strong naval capabilities in the strategic waterway.

The statement comes amid renewed tensions over security in the Persian Gulf region, which is considered one of the world’s most important routes for global oil transportation.
