PABNA, Feb 16, (V7N) – CNG-powered auto-rickshaw drivers staged a human chain protest on Sunday afternoon, demanding the reopening of the long-closed Akij Filling Station in Dashuria, Ishwardi, Pabna.

The demonstration, which lasted for an hour, saw hundreds of drivers gathering in front of the station, urging authorities to resume CNG supply.

Speakers at the human chain highlighted that the station had been closed for the past 11 months, severely impacting their livelihoods.

  • Long travel distances to other pumps for refueling.
  • Increased operational costs and reduced income.
  • Struggles in maintaining daily earnings due to fuel shortages.

"Without this pump, we waste hours searching for fuel, which affects our daily income. We demand the immediate reopening of this station," said Firoz Hossain, a protesting driver.

CNG drivers Tuhin Sardar, Masum Hossain, Tushar Sheikh, Abdul Quddus, and others urged the Akij Filling Station authorities to restore service immediately to ease their suffering.
