Brahmanbaria, Mar 02 (V7N) – After 22 hours, the Border Security Force (BSF) of India has handed over the body of Al Amin, a Bangladeshi youth killed in BSF firing at the Putia border in Kasba, Brahmanbaria. The handover took place following a flag meeting on Saturday (March 1) at 5:30 PM near Pillar 2050 of the border.

Representing Bangladesh, the meeting was attended by Lt. Col. Ziaur Rahman, Commander of Sultanpur BGB 60 Battalion, and Abdul Kader, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kasba Police Station. The BSF was represented by Ajit Kumar, Company Commander of the 49 BSF Battalion, along with other members.

Lt. Col. Ziaur Rahman stated that Bangladesh has strongly protested the incident, warning the BSF to prevent such occurrences in the future.

Following the handover, OC Abdul Kader confirmed that Al Amin’s body has been sent to the District Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

The killing has sparked tension in the border area, with local residents and rights activists demanding a thorough investigation and stricter measures to prevent further border violence.
