Dhaka, Mar 10, (V7N) – Dhaka Metropolitan Police filed 1,123 cases against traffic law violators in different parts of the capital during a special drive conducted on Monday.

According to a press release from the DMP, the operation was carried out by the Traffic Division in several areas to enforce traffic regulations and improve road discipline.

In the Traffic-Ramna division, 100 cases were filed against four buses, seven covered vans, 11 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 36 motorcycles.

The Traffic-Lalbagh division filed 94 cases against one bus, 10 trucks, three covered vans, six CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 46 motorcycles, while the Traffic-Motijheel division filed 61 cases against four buses, three covered vans, eight CNGs and 34 motorcycles.

In the Traffic-Wari division, 147 cases were filed against 28 buses, 27 trucks, 24 covered vans, 11 CNGs and 34 motorcycles.

The Traffic-Tejgaon division filed 113 cases against eight buses, six trucks, 10 covered vans, eight CNGs and 52 motorcycles.

Meanwhile, the Traffic-Mirpur division filed 156 cases against 10 buses, nine trucks, 11 covered vans, 22 CNGs and 86 motorcycles.

In addition, the Traffic-Uttara division filed 237 cases against 27 buses, 12 trucks, 11 covered vans, 43 CNGs and 78 motorcycles, while the Traffic-Gulshan division filed 215 cases against 11 buses, two trucks, 10 covered vans, 17 CNGs and 90 motorcycles.

During the drive, a total of 392 vehicles were dumped and 252 vehicles were wrecked for violating traffic rules.

The DMP Traffic Division said such drives will continue across the Dhaka metropolitan area to ensure traffic discipline and enhance road safety.
