DHAKA, Mar 9, (V7N) – Health officials today reported 11 fresh dengue cases across Bangladesh in the past 24 hours ending at 8 am.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), six patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, one in Dhaka division, one in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and three in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).

Since the beginning of this year, dengue has claimed four lives and affected 1,582 people nationwide. Last year, the mosquito‑borne disease killed 413 people and infected 102,861, while in 2024 it claimed 575 lives and affected 101,214 people.

Officials said the DGHS continues to monitor the situation closely and urged citizens to remain cautious, stressing the importance of eliminating mosquito breeding grounds to prevent further spread.
