DHAKA, Mar 9, (V7N) – Bangladesh and Norway today reaffirmed their commitment to bolstering industrial ties and expanding trade cooperation to further strengthen the existing friendly relations between the two countries.
The consensus came as Norwegian Ambassador Håkon Arald Gulbrandsen paid a courtesy call on Industries Minister Khandaker Abdul Muktadir at the Ministry of Industries.
During the meeting, both sides discussed a wide range of bilateral issues, with a particular focus on scaling up cooperation in the trade and industrial sectors.
Minister Muktadir described Norway as a long‑term friend and trusted development partner, underscoring Bangladesh’s commitment to fostering industrialization and sustainable economic growth. He invited Norwegian entrepreneurs to explore investment opportunities in Bangladesh’s industrial landscape.
Ambassador Gulbrandsen lauded the collaborative relationship between the two nations and highlighted potential areas of cooperation, including shipbuilding, ship recycling, green technology, and renewable energy. He expressed optimism that investment and trade between Bangladesh and Norway would see substantial growth in the future.
Both sides reiterated their shared goal of deepening bilateral ties through joint efforts in industrial development, technology transfer, and workforce training to meet the demands of modern industry.
Industries Secretary Md. Obaidur Rahman and senior ministry officials were also present at the meeting.
