Rajshahi, Mar 19 (V7N)– Leaders from various business associations in Rajshahi have submitted a memorandum to the District Commissioner, demanding the immediate release of Abul Kalam, president of the Rajshahi District Truck Association and Bangladesh Fertilizer Association.

The memorandum, delivered to District Commissioner Afia Akhtar on Wednesday afternoon, March 19, expresses deep concern over the arrest and detention of Abul Kalam, which they allege is based on a false and harassing case.

The business leaders claim that remnants of a "previous fascist government" are conspiring against Abul Kalam. They specifically criticize the actions of Mehdi Masud, former officer-in-charge of Boalia Police Station, who they allege intentionally included the names of 74 individuals not mentioned in the original complaint during the investigation.

"We have seen that Mehdi Masud, the former officer-in-charge of Boalia Police Station, intentionally filed a preliminary information report with the names of 74 people who were not included in the complaint in the name of investigation, which is a manifestation of the slavery of the fascists. We strongly condemn and protest," the memorandum states.

They further allege that the plaintiff, Usama bin Iqbal, knowingly filed a false complaint implicating individuals, including Abul Kalam, who were not connected to the case, and subsequently submitted an affidavit at the Rajshahi Notary Public Office.

The business leaders are calling for immediate action against those they claim are involved in the conspiracy and for the unconditional release of Abul Kalam. They believe that his release will help dismantle the alleged web of conspiracies.

"Through this memorandum, we request the police department to take immediate action against such conspirators and the unconditional release of Abul Kalam, one of the leaders of the Fertilizer Association and Truck Transport Owners Association. We believe that through his release, it is possible to dismantle the web of all conspiracies," the memorandum concludes.
