Pabna, Mar 23 (V7N)– In a gesture of goodwill ahead of the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr, rice has been distributed to extremist members who had previously surrendered in Pabna.
The distribution took place at the Jalalpur Notunpara Sarbik Gram Unnayan Samity in the Monoharpur area of Sadar Upazila on Sunday, March 23.
"Rice has been distributed among extremist members who surrendered in Pabna on the occasion of the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Fitr," a local aid worker confirmed.
The rice distribution was conducted by Advocate Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas, Special Assistant to the BNP Chairperson.
"The rice was distributed by Advocate Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas, special assistant to the BNP Chairperson, at the Jalalpur Notunpara Sarbik Gram Unnayan Samity in the Monoharpur area of Sadar Upazila on Sunday (March 23) afternoon," a press release stated.

Each of the 70 surrendered extremist members received 30 kg of rice.
"At that time, the guests distributed 30 kg of rice each to the 70 surrendered extremist members," a distribution coordinator said.
The distribution of rice is seen as an effort to provide support to those who have renounced extremism and reintegrate them into society, especially during the festive occasion of Eid.
