Tangail, Apr 10 (V7N)– The first day of the ongoing Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations in Tangail Jala saw a high rate of attendance, with only 547 students absent out of a total of 44,374 registered candidates. The examinations were conducted in a fair and orderly manner across the district.

"On the first day (April 10) of the ongoing SSC and equivalent examinations in Tangail Jala, 547 students out of a total of 44,374 students passed the examination in a fair and orderly manner," confirmed Tangail Additional District Administrator (Education and ICT) Sanjay Kumar Mahi on Thursday afternoon.

Providing a breakdown of the absenteeism across different streams, Additional District Administrator Mahi stated that 279 students were absent from the SSC examination (out of 33,857 registered), 171 students were absent from the Dakhil examination (out of 5,812 registered), and 97 students were absent from the SSC (Vocational) examination (out of 4,647 registered). Notably, all 58 students who had applied for the Dakhil Vocational examination were present.

"Among them, 279 out of 33,857 students failed in the SSC examination, 171 out of 5,812 students failed, 97 out of 4,647 students failed in the SSC (Vocational) examination and 58 students who had applied for the Vocational examination were all successful," Mahi detailed.

According to the Jala Education Department, a total of 47 examination centers were operational across the district, utilizing 85 venues. These included centers for SSC, Dakhil, SSC (Vocational), and Dakhil Vocational examinations.

"According to the Jala Education Department, 47 exams were held in Jala out of 85 seats. Out of these, 42 seats and 39 seats were held for SSC exams, 15 seats and 3 seats were held for Dakhil exams, 25 seats and 5 seats were held for SSC (Vocational) exams, and 3 seats were held for Dakhil Vocational exams," the Jala Education Department reported.

On the first day of the examinations, senior administrative officials from the district and various upazilas, including District Administrator Sharifa Haque, were actively inspecting the examination centers to ensure the smooth and fair conduct of the tests. The examinations commenced at 10 AM and concluded at 1 PM local time. Authorities reported no incidents of students leaving the district or examination centers during this period.

"On the first day of the examination, senior officials of the district and various upazilas, including District Administrator Sharifa Haque, are inspecting the campuses and schools. The examination started at 10 am and continued till 1 pm. During this time, there was no news of any student leaving the district or school," a district administration official stated.

To maintain a fair and orderly examination environment, Tangail Additional District Administrator Sanjay Kumar Mahi stated that 37 executive magistrates have been deployed across the district. Furthermore, Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, which prohibits unlawful assembly, has been imposed around the examination venues. District Administrator Sharifa Haque is personally overseeing the entire examination process and closely monitoring the situation.

"Tangail Additional District Administrator (Education and ICT) Sanjay Kumar Mahi said that 37 executive magistrates have been deployed to ensure a fair and orderly examination this year and Section 144 has been imposed around the examination venue. Besides, District Administrator Sharifa Haque is monitoring the entire examination process and keeping a close eye on the situation," Mahi affirmed.
