Pabna, July 11 (V7N) – Hasanul Islam Raja, the Central Committee Advisor of Bangladesh Nationalist Cultural Forum and a potential BNP candidate for the Pabna-3 constituency, emphasized that the election schedule has not yet been announced, and the party's candidate selection process is still in progress. Raja expressed his belief that after the election schedule is declared, the party’s nomination board would finalize the candidates after thorough assessments.
Speaking at a motorcycle rally and street meeting in Faridpur, Pabna, on Friday (July 11), Raja stated, “The party’s senior decision-makers are far more experienced and wise. They will conduct surveys at the grassroots level and carefully analyze what the people want. There are many dedicated leaders in Pabna-3 who deserve the nomination, and I believe the most acceptable candidate will be chosen to represent the party in the upcoming national elections.”
Earlier, Raja arrived in Pabna by road, traveling from Dhaka, and was warmly welcomed by over 500 supporters on motorcycles. He then participated in a motorcycle rally, visiting Demra, Faridpur, Bheramara, Bhanguara, Zardis Mor, and Chatmohor, exchanging greetings with locals and addressing the gatherings.
Focus on Pabna-3 Constituency
Raja emphasized his deep connection with the Pabna-3 constituency, stating, “Pabna-3 is my identity, and the people of this area are my existence. I have proposed 30 key points addressing the issues of the underprivileged, marginalized, and working-class people of this region. As a candidate for the party’s symbol ‘Paddy Sheaf,’ I am dedicated to working for the welfare of Pabna-3’s people, and I will always stand by them.”
Raja claimed that in Pabna-3’s Chatmohor area, over 90% of the population supports his candidacy. He reiterated that the decision regarding the nomination will be made by the party’s leadership, and although the selection process will take time, he remains focused on working for the people of the constituency.
Lack of Development in Pabna-3
At various street meetings, Raja expressed his frustration with the lack of development in Pabna-3 over the last 54 years since independence. He pointed out that most of the previous MPs from the area were outsiders, with no commitment to the local people. “These MPs failed to bring any meaningful development, and that’s why you, the people of Pabna-3, must raise your voices for your rightful candidate,” Raja said.
He further urged the locals not to support any outsider as the next MP for Pabna-3, declaring, “We want a local leader who will truly serve this area. We will not accept an outsider as our representative.”
A Personal Battle for the People
Raja compared the current political situation in Pabna-3 to the country’s Liberation War in 1971, saying, “Just like in 1971, when certain individuals sided with the Pakistani forces for personal gain, today in 2025, I am facing a similar battle. Some leaders are abandoning their commitments to the people of Pabna-3 and focusing on their own interests instead of the welfare of the people.” He reaffirmed his commitment to serve the people of Pabna-3 for the rest of his life.
Leaders Present at the Rally
Among the prominent leaders present at the rally were former Joint Secretary of Chatmohor Municipal BNP, Zahurul Islam Master; Joint General Secretary of Upazila Volunteer Party, Rabiu Karim; BNP leader Abdul Kuddus Molla; President of Mathurapur Union Krishak Dal, Rezaul Karim Babu; BNP leader Saiful Islam Master of Faijana Union; BNP leader Mobarak Hossain; Jubo Dal leader Alam Min Talukdar; and several others.
