Natore, July 17 (V7N) — In observance of July Martyrs’ Day and the upcoming National Mourning Day, a prayer and discussion meeting was held on Wednesday morning at the Naldanga Upazila Parishad auditorium. The event was organized by the Naldanga Upazila Administration and began at 11:00 AM, with Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Redwanul Halim presiding over the session.
 
Speakers reflected on the significance of the July Martyrs and the broader context of National Mourning Day, which commemorates tragic and pivotal events in the nation's political history. They urged all parties to remember the sacrifices made for justice, democracy, and national unity.
 
Addressing the gathering were Assistant Commissioner (Land) Ashiqur Rahman, Naldanga Police Station Officer-in-Charge Rafiqul Islam, Upazila Agriculture Officer Kishwar Hossain, and Primary Education Officer Sanaullah.
 
Representatives from various political and civic groups were also in attendance, including former Upazila BNP organizing secretary Shafiqul Islam Bulbul, Jamaat-e-Islami's Upazila Secretary Dr. Fazlur Rahman, NCP leader Badsha, and anti-discrimination student activist Ashiqur Rahman.
 
Following the discussion, a special prayer (doa and munajat) was held for the souls of the July martyrs, seeking divine mercy and peace.
 
The program underscored a shared message of reflection and reconciliation, bringing together political, administrative, and community voices in memory of lives lost and the ongoing pursuit of a peaceful and just society.
