A 24-second video circulating on social media shows one group attempting to vandalize the main gate of the convention center. Law enforcement officers inside the venue fired shots to control the situation. Following the disturbance, leaders and activists of BNP and Chhatra Dal gathered outside the hall.

The concert was organized by a motorcycle manufacturing company at the GEC Mor Convention Centre and featured a performance by the band Artcell. The event was open to the public. During the evening, some attendees began chanting “Sheikh Hasina,” which was recorded by several onlookers. The chanting sparked an altercation, leading to chaos and eventual damage at the venue, forcing the concert to stop. Law enforcement officers are currently stationed at the scene.

Eyewitness Md. Nayeem reported that members of Chhatra League were chanting “Joy Bangla” during the concert, prompting protests from Chhatra Dal leaders. The verbal confrontation escalated into a physical clash, and police opened fire to control the crowd. Two Chhatra Dal members were reportedly shot.

SI Alauddin Talukder of the CMCH police outpost stated that the injured and their associates are providing inconsistent information, making it difficult to determine the exact sequence of events.

Saiful Alam, convenor of Chattogram City Chhatra Dal, confirmed visiting CMCH to check on the injured. He stated that during the concert, a faction inside the venue raised slogans supporting the ruling party, which triggered a scuffle and subsequent injuries.

Shahinoor Zaman, Officer-in-Charge of Khulshi Police Station, noted that the motorcycle company had permission for an exhibition, not the concert. When the disturbance began over political slogans, police intervened to restore order. Several individuals were detained and are being interrogated. Officials responsible for organizing the concert have been summoned to Khulshi Police Station for questioning.

Authorities are investigating the incident to clarify responsibilities and prevent similar events in the future.
