During a strong heat wave, water does not rise in shallow tube wells, tubewells, or motor pumps. The severe drought and lack of precipitation have caused a decrease in groundwater levels, which has led to a scarcity of water. People are tired of it.
Currently, Ratan Kumar Bhowmick, the director of Asia Bank's Bausa Bazar Agent branch and assistant teacher at Bausa Girls High School in Bagha Upazila, is transporting water in a mobile van with a 1000-liter tank from one hamlet to another. With his own money, he has been carrying out an extraordinary endeavour for the last week.
Water is supplied daily from their own sub-marcebul at Bausa Bazar to the Arani railway station, Noonnagar, Bererbari, Haripur, Bausa Benupur, Hat Bausa, Bausa Miapara, Tauripara, Tenachura, Sarkarpara, Bheralipara, and Purbapara villages of Bausa Union.
Regarding this, Rozina Begum of Hatpara Bausa village stated that water is required for a variety of domestic requirements but is not present in any of the village's tubewells. Ratan Da is currently providing water on a daily basis. This has been advantageous to us.
The previous Bausa Union chairman, Shafiqur Rahman, expressed his admiration for Ratan Kumar Bhowmik's initiative in resolving the water situation. To address the water situation, I believe that civic groups, elected officials, nonprofits, and social workers should step up.
In this sense, even when individuals desire to, they are unable to get the required amount of water, according to Ratan Kumar Bhowmik. We use our own money to provide water to the public on a regular basis in four vehicles. Until there is a scarcity, I will continue to provide water on a regular basis.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer Tariqul Islam stated, "I have heard that a school teacher named Ratan Kumar Bhowmik is bringing clean water to villages in a van on his own initiative."
