Indonesian Ambassador expresses interest in working in the fields of agriculture, education, culture, and tourism with the Mayor of Rajshahi.
 
Rajshahi June 5, (V7N)- A courtesy meeting and discussion were held between the newly appointed Indonesian Ambassador to Bangladesh, Heru Hartanto Subolo, and the Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation, AHM Khairuzzaman Liton. The meeting took place on Wednesday (June 5) at 3 pm in the Mayor's office chamber in the city building. During the meeting, the Indonesian Ambassador expressed interest in working in the fields of agriculture, education, culture, and tourism in Rajshahi. He expressed sincere gratitude to Mayor Khairuzzaman for expressing interest in working with the Rajshahi City Corporation.
 
At the beginning of the meeting, Mayor Khairuzzaman extended warm wishes to Ambassador Hartanto. Subsequently, a bilateral discussion took place for about an hour. At the end of the meeting, the Indonesian Ambassador presented a 'Mango Crest' and best wishes as a token of appreciation to Mayor Khairuzzaman. At this time, the Indonesian Ambassador also presented a token of best wishes to the City Mayor.
 
During the meeting, Indonesian Ambassador Hartanto Subolo said that Indonesia has many advanced educational institutions. In these Indonesian educational institutions, he expressed a desire to exchange knowledge and culture between Rajshahi students and Indonesia through one-year scholarships and three-month scholarships in the arts and cultural fields. Besides, as Rajshahi is a predominantly agricultural region, we are interested in working with products produced in this region.
 
He further said, "This is my first visit to Rajshahi. I am impressed by the cleanliness of Rajshahi and the future plans and vision of the city mayor."
 
Mayor Khairuzzaman Liton said, "Indonesia is our close friend country. There have been long meetings with the Indonesian Ambassador. During the meeting, he expressed his willingness to cooperate with Rajshahi in the fields of agriculture, education, culture, and tourism." We will inform the Indonesian Ambassador in writing about where we can work in the establishment of solar plants, scholarship programs for students, and tourism.
 
Mayor Khairuzzaman further said, "Rajshahi is a predominantly agricultural region. We discussed the establishment of agricultural-based industries." Besides, there are many educational institutions in Rajshahi. The Indonesian Ambassador is interested in providing scholarships to students here. If this starts, both countries will benefit from the exchange of knowledge.

Mamun Dollar, Executive Engineer (Mechanical) Ahmed Al Main, Deputy Chief Sanitary Officer Selim Reza Ranju, Assistant Engineer (Civil) Ananya Islam Nirjhar were present.
