Pabna June 10,(V7N)- At a time when he should be running around with his classmates and going to school, six-year-old Ahnaf is confined to a hospital bed. His small body is covered with various medical devices. The pain and discomfort are immense. Ahnaf wants to recover and live a healthy life. He wants to go back to school like other children, grow up under his parents' love, and see the world.

Mahiur Rahman Ahnaf has been suffering from Thalassemia Major since birth. His parents have exhausted all their resources trying to make him well.

Ahnaf's father, Shamsul Alam Babu, is an assistant registrar at Pabna University of Science and Technology. His only son, Ahnaf, nearly seven years old, underwent a bone marrow transplant in India. For nearly a year, Shamsul Alam has been staying in India for his son's treatment.

So far, he has spent over 8.5 million taka on Ahnaf's treatment, depleting all his assets. Ahnaf's treatment requires an additional 3 million taka, but his father can no longer provide the necessary funds on his own. He has appealed for help from everyone. Despite the bone marrow transplant, Ahnaf is not yet out of danger and urgently needs another 3 million taka.

Ahnaf's mother, Aleya Ferdousi, told Voice Seven News that their son was born with Thalassemia Major, a blood disorder that requires monthly blood transfusions to survive. The only cure for this disease is a bone marrow transplant.

Following the doctor's advice, Ahnaf underwent a bone marrow transplant on December 12 last year at Fortis Hospital in Gurgaon, Haryana, India, under Dr. Vikas Dua. Everything was fine for the first 115 days post-transplant, but complications started on April 6, just four days before the protocol ended. These complications are known as GVHD and CMV virus.

Ahnaf's mother told Voice Seven News that they have already spent over 8 million taka. Each injection for this treatment is very expensive, and considering Ahnaf's condition, the doctor has readmitted him to the ICU. To continue this treatment, an additional 25,000 dollars is needed. However, it has become impossible for the family to bear these expenses.

The doctors have informed them that if Ahnaf receives the injections on time, he will recover. Therefore, Ahnaf's parents are seeking financial assistance and prayers from everyone. A little love, compassion, and support from everyone can help Ahnaf survive. Let us all come together, extend a helping hand, and stand by Ahnaf's parents.
