Mongla port June 13,(V7N)- Once a nearly defunct seaport, Mongla, the country's second-largest seaport, has made significant progress. Emphasizing its historical economic context, it has transformed into a dynamic port. 
There have been increases in financial, technological, labor, and business opportunities at this port. In this context, the Chairman of the Port Authority, Rear Admiral Shahin Rahman, held a discussion meeting with media personnel to discuss further development and modernization of Mongla Port.
 
The meeting took place at 12 PM on Thursday, June 13, with journalists from various television channels and newspapers based in Khulna, Mongla, and Bagerhat. Journalist leaders and senior officials of the port authority were also present.
 
The session began with a multimedia presentation showcasing the past, present, and future plans for Mongla Port. Following this, Chairman Rear Admiral Shahin Rahman answered various questions from the journalists. In an open discussion, he outlined the future projects for the port's development and modernization.
 
Chairman Rear Admiral Shahin Rahman stated that to maintain navigability in the international shipping line and the channel, various developmental activities are ongoing, including dredging, construction of jetties and sheds, procurement of sufficient buoys, and acquisition of cargo handling equipment. Additionally, several projects are being undertaken for the future development and modernization of this port.
