Ukhiya, July 01 (V7N)- Locals have spotted a herd of wild elephants in the hilly area of Telkhola in Ukhiya, Cox's Bazar. The herd was seen during the daytime on Sunday, June 30th.
 
The elephants, in search of food, came close to the human settlement. Among the herd, elephants of various sizes, including baby elephants, were seen.
 
Locals reported that this herd had been spotted once before. Occasionally, the presence of elephants is noticed as they wander and approach the vicinity of the settlement.
 
Regarding this, Ukhiya Range Officer Gazi Shafiul Alam stated that a herd of wild elephants had come to the settlement. Later, with the help of locals, they were driven back into the deep forest.
