Tangail, July 7 (V7N)- The nine-day Rath Yatra festival of Lord Jagannath, observed by followers of Sanatan Dharma, commenced in Tangail with great enthusiasm. On Sunday (July 7) morning, a grand procession set out from the Sri Sri Boro Kalibari Temple and paraded through various parts of the city.
 
Present at the procession were Subhash Chandra Saha, President of the Sri Sri Boro Kalibari Temple; Subhash Sarkar, Vice President; Bir Muktijoddha Jibon Krishna Chowdhury, General Secretary; Liton Saha, Joint General Secretary; Suman Sarkar, Organizing Secretary of the Adalat Para Puja Committee; Bibhas Krishna Chowdhury, Publicity Secretary of the Adalat Para Puja Committee; Partha Karmakar, Treasurer of the Adalat Para Puja Committee, along with other leaders.
 
People of all ages, both men and women, participated in the procession. After the procession, worship, pulling of the chariot, and a fair were held in the premises of Sri Sri Boro Kalibari. The festival will conclude on Monday (July 15) with the Ulto Rath Yatra.
