Rajshahi, Aug 20 (V7N) – A press conference highlighting the activities of Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) was held on Tuesday, August 20, at the City Hall of the city corporation. Dr. Dewan Muhammad Humayun Kabir, the Administrator of RCC and Divisional Commissioner of Rajshahi (Additional Secretary), addressed the media, answering various questions from journalists and requesting their cooperation with RCC's efforts.
Dr. Kabir described Rajshahi as the most beautiful city in the nation and a source of pride for its residents. Having assumed his role on August 19, he has already met with city officials and promised that essential services would be promptly resumed. He assured that any outstanding citizen services would be initiated by the end of the day, and development projects would begin soon. Dr. Kabir also stressed that any allegations of corruption or irregularities within the city corporation would be dealt with in accordance with the law.
He announced the formation of a committee to evaluate damages to the city corporation, with a directive to report on the extent of the damage, potential costs, and necessary actions within seven working days. Additionally, a separate committee will be established to streamline the corporation’s workforce.
Dr. Kabir called for the return of any state property that was looted from the city hall, promising appreciation for those who comply. He warned that legal action would be taken against anyone found in possession of city corporation property in the future.
The press conference was attended by several key officials, including Dr. ABM Sharif Uddin, Chief Executive Officer of RCC; Secretary Md. Mobarak Hossain; Chief Engineer Noor Islam Tushar; Executive Magistrate Sadia Afrin; Budget and Accounts Officer Shafiqul Islam Khan; Chief Cleanliness Officer Sheikh Md. Mamun Dollar; Chief Revenue Officer Abu Saleh Md. Nur-E-Said; and Chief Health Officer Dr. FM Anjuman Ara Begum, along with other officials and media representatives from both print and electronic outlets.
