Patuakhali, Aug 20 (V7N) – The Bay of Bengal near Kuakata is quite rough due to a low-pressure system. Large waves are crashing onto the shore. Simultaneously, the coastal areas of Patuakhali’s Kalapara are experiencing intermittent heavy to moderate rainfall. According to the meteorological office, 153.9 millimeters of rain was recorded from 9 AM yesterday to 9 AM today.

The continuous moderate to heavy rainfall over the past five days has led to disruptions in daily life. Low-income laborers are facing difficulties, and Aman farmers are worried as the fields and canals are submerged. Additionally, rain-fed vegetable farmers are suffering losses.

Due to the risk of stormy weather along the coastal areas, the meteorological office has issued a local cautionary signal No. 3 for all sea ports, including Payra. Fishing trawlers have been advised to operate safely.
