kurigram, Sept 15 V7N - The body of a young man, who went missing in a branch of the Brahmaputra River in Kurigram's Roumari, was recovered by fire service personnel a day later. The incident took place on Sunday afternoon when Shaha Alam, aged 18, disappeared while swimming. His body was found on Monday afternoon in the Fanar Char area of Roumari upazila.

Shaha Alam, the son of Rahmat Ali from Sakhipur in Gazipur, Dhaka, had come to visit his maternal grandparents in Khanar Char Paschim Para, Roumari, with his cousin Sajib. The two went for a swim in the nearby Holhalia River on Sunday. While Sajib was rescued alive after both cousins began to drown, Shaha Alam remained missing.

Following the incident, fire service teams from Roumari and Jamalpur launched a search operation. The body was eventually recovered on Monday afternoon and handed over to the family. Abdul Alim, the leader of the Roumari Fire Service, confirmed the successful recovery after an extensive search.
