Khagrachari, Sep 19 (V7N)- The Guimara Region of the Bangladesh Army, in collaboration with the Bidyananda Foundation, organised the 'Ek Takay Bazar' to support families affected by recent floods. The event took place at the Guimara College grounds, with Brigadier General Raisul Islam, Commander of the 24 Artillery Brigade, inaugurating the initiative.

At least 600 families from five upazilas participated in the market, where they could purchase essential items for just one taka. The market offered a wide variety of 19 products, including rice, lentils, flour, oil, eggs, fish, poultry, clothes, and educational materials. Each family was able to select seven items of their choice from the available goods.

In addition to the market, Brigadier General Raisul Islam also distributed rehabilitation materials to 10 families, including cows, sewing machines, and grocery store supplies, as part of the recovery efforts.

The event saw the presence of several key figures, including Sindukchhari Zone Captain Lt Col Syed Parvez Mostafa, Matiranga Zone Captain Lt Col Kamrul Hasan, Vidyananda Foundation Board Member Md. Jamal Uddin, and team leader Muhammad Mubarak Babu, alongside other military officials.

This initiative reflects the Bangladesh Army’s commitment to supporting local communities during challenging times and highlights the ongoing collaboration with the Bidyananda Foundation to provide relief to those in need.
