Dhaka, Sep 26 (V7N) –The classes for first-year honours students for the 2023-24 academic session have been postponed again as authorities announced on Thursday that the classes would start on October 20.

The decision was made during a central admission management committee meeting on Thursday afternoon, chaired by JU Vice-Chancellor Prof Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan.

Deputy Registrar (Academic) Syed Mohammad Ali Reza, who serves as the member secretary of the admission management committee, confirmed the development.

He said: "The initial plan was to start classes on September 30. However, to ensure adequate seating arrangements for all students, the date has been postponed. In Thursday's meeting, it was unanimously decided to start classes on October 20."

Earlier, on September 15, the committee of provosts, headed by the vice-chancellor, had announced September 30 as the starting date for the first-year classes. However, that decision was revised at the latest meeting.

It is noteworthy that the starting date for classes has been postponed three times—from the original date of July 21 to September 30, and now to October 20
