Due to the security concerns arising from the Myanmar conflict, the SSC exam centre of Ghumdhum High School in Bandarban’s Naikhongchari border area has been relocated to two government primary schools of North Ghumdhum. This was announced by Chattogram Divisional Commissioner Mohammad Tofail Islam after visiting the border areas of Ghumdhum and Tumbru on Monday afternoon.
He said that the Chattogram Education Board has approved the change of the exam venue, which will affect 461 SSC candidates. He was accompanied by senior officials, including Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of police, Chattogram Range, Noor-E-Alam Mina, and Cox’s Bazar Superintendent of Police Md Mahfuz Islam.
The DIG said that the border situation is under control and that RAB and police are working together to prevent any unwanted incident in the border area.
The SSC exam is scheduled to start from Thursday across the country. More than 2 million students will take part in the exam at 3,700 centres.
