DU, Jan 05, (V7N) - A group of students organized a protest titled "Hate Throw" at the Dhaka University (DU) campus to express their disdain towards the Chhatra League on its 77th anniversary. The protest, led by a student group called Dhaka University Students' Right Watch, took place on Saturday near the Raju Sculpture. During the protest, shoes and paint were thrown at images of prominent figures, including Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Sheikh Hasina, Obaidul Quader, Chhatra League President Saddam Hossain, General Secretary Sheikh Wali Asif Inan, Organizational Secretary Atika Binte Hossain, and DU President Mazharul Kabir Shoyon, along with General Secretary Tanveer Hasan Shaikot.

Earlier in the morning, the protesters also threw shoes and paint at a portrait of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at the DU’s Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall.

In the afternoon, at the Raju Sculpture, the protesters continued their actions and chanted slogans such as "Mujibism will not survive in my golden Bengal," "Down with autocracy, down with Mujibism," and "Where did the Chhatra League go?" As part of their protest, students participated in a "shoe-throwing competition." According to the competition's rules, participants could throw up to three shoes at the images, with a prize of a soft drink bottle awarded to those who successfully hit the images three times.

Musaadik Ali Ibn Mohammad, a student from the Bengali Department, commented, "The banned Chhatra League terrorists once committed horrific acts against students in the halls. While we throw shoes at their images, we also bury the legacies of terrorism, imperialism, fascism, and Mujibism. But the perpetrators are still roaming free. We urge the government to arrest them and give them exemplary punishment immediately."
