Dhaka, Feb 9, (V7N) – Discrepancies in the question papers of the 'GA' unit admission test at Dhaka University have been reported, causing concern among students. Some Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) sets had their order scrambled, and four questions were repeated. University authorities have attributed the issue to human error and assured that it affects only a small number of question papers. Efforts are underway to identify these errors.
During Saturday’s test, two sets of question papers, Set 'A' and Set 'B,' were provided to candidates. The seven-page question paper showed inconsistencies, with some Set 'A' papers having Set 'B' order, and vice versa. As a result, four questions appeared twice in certain papers.
The MCQ section of the test is scanned and evaluated by a computer, with the correct answer sheet assigned for each set. Concerns have arisen regarding how such discrepancies will affect the grading process.
The Chief Coordinator of the 'GA' Unit Admission Test, Professor Mahmud Osman Imam, stated, “This is a human error. Some Set ‘A’ papers had the second page of Set ‘B,’ and vice versa. Consequently, the sequence of questions was disrupted, and some questions were repeated. However, only a few papers are affected, and we are identifying them. No candidate will face unfair treatment.”
He further explained that the university is reviewing the affected papers from specific halls and centers. Results will be based on the corrected patterns to ensure fairness in evaluation.
