Pabna, Feb 24, (V7N) – A two-day training workshop on 'File and Financial Management of Different Offices' was held at Pabna University of Science and Technology (PUST). The workshop was attended by deans, departmental chairmen, and office heads of the university.
Special guests included Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Nazrul Islam and Treasurer Professor Dr. Mohammad Shamim Ahsan. The event was organized by the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell and held in the university's virtual classroom on Saturday and Sunday.
The resource persons for the workshop were Mohammad Abdullah Al Mamun, Deputy Registrar at Khulna University's Faculty of Arts and Humanities, and retired Deputy Director of the Accounts and Finance Office, G. M. Anisur Rahman.
During the opening session on Saturday, Dr. Nazrul Islam emphasized the importance of laws and practices in office management, mentioning that modern office systems are evolving to align with contemporary needs. He highlighted the introduction of 'D Document' for better transparency in file handling.
On the concluding day, Dr. Nazrul Islam spoke about the responsibility of chairpersons in managing offices by law and ensuring compliance with the rules in their daily operations. Dr. Shamim Ahsan also stressed the need for transparency in public finance management, urging that understanding laws is crucial for effective office management.
The workshop saw participation from deans, department heads, and various office staff, with closing remarks from Registrar Bijon Kumar Brahma and the Director of IQAC, Dr. Mohammad Shamim Reza. Dr. Mohammad Asfaqur Rahman, Additional Director of IQAC, moderated the event.
