Tangail, June 25 (V7N)- Sixty students from secondary schools in Basail, Tangail, were given bicycles to ensure a quality learning environment and regular attendance.
 
On Tuesday (June 25) at 11:30 AM, bicycles were distributed to 60 students from six unions of the upazila in a ceremony held at the Upazila Parishad auditorium. The bicycles were funded by 1% of the land transfer tax from the 2022-2023 fiscal year and were distributed to poor and meritorious students of Basail upazila.
 
The event was presided over by Upazila Executive Officer Md. Shah Rukh Khan, with Tangail District Commissioner Md. Kaysarul Islam as the chief guest. Special guests included Upazila Parishad Chairman Kazi Alid Islam.
 
Also present were Basail Municipality Mayor Rahat Hasan Tipu, Principal of Basail Government Jobeda Rubeya Women's College Mashiur Rahman Khan Apel, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Mohammad Neamat Ullah, Basail Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Abu Hanif Sarkar, and chairpersons of all Union Parishads.
