On Saturday (June 29), this notice, signed by Mohammad Aminul Islam, the principal of Major General Mahmudul Hasan Ideal College in Tangail, was posted on the college's Facebook page.

From Sunday (June 30), the HSC and equivalent exams will begin simultaneously across the country. About 1,200 students will participate in the exams at that college center. The college authorities issued this notice to bring candles and matches due to the possibility of adverse weather.

The notice quickly went viral on social media, prompting various comments from netizens. The college authorities later deleted the notice from their Facebook page after it went viral.

The notice stated, "Due to the possibility of adverse weather conditions, all students are instructed to bring candles and matches to the exam centers." The notice was prepared by a college computer operator named Sajia Afrin.

Mohammad Aminul Islam, the principal of Major General Mahmudul Hasan Ideal College, said the notice was issued based on the advice of the principal of Santosh Mawlana Bhashani College. However, after it went viral on Facebook, it was deleted. Still, due to the fear of adverse weather, that college authority issued the same notice.

He added that they asked students to bring a candle and a matchbox due to the possibility of adverse weather for an entire week starting from the first day of the exam. The college has no generator. If the power goes out, it will create problems. It is impossible to arrange candles for 1,200 students. The notice was issued based on a teacher's advice, which caused embarrassment.
